    This position is to lead the team of the AI Taiwan Secretariat, supervising departments of Campaigning, Fundraising and Finance Management & Accounting, and conducting risk management. The Director shall interact with the global Amnesty movement as well as local partners, reporting to the Board of AI Taiwan and the East Asia Regional Office in matrix form, for continued growth of the human rights movement in Taiwan.

    The Director will drive Amnesty International’s ambitious plans to grow the human rights movement in Taiwan. The postholder will promote an organizational vision for substantially increasing Amnesty International’s profile and presence in Taiwan that inspires staff, volunteers, members, donors, partners, and potential supporters of AI Taiwan.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and internationally experienced senior fundraiser to help grow Amnesty International’s main income channel globally. The role is based in our Global Fundraising at the Amnesty International Secretariat (AIIS). We provide strategic support to AI sections to deliver effective Individual Giving growth strategies aiming to increase the number of people supporting us and the amount of money that is raised.

    The successful candidate will support fundraising and development programmes in Amnesty’s sections, including advising on and coordination of financial investment and other capacity building resources which will drive direct fundraising activities and financial growth in priority markets.  You will work closely with the Global Fundraising Director and with your peers in the fundraising management team covering all of AI’s strategic income streams.

    You will manage a team consisting of Regional Fundraising managers covering the Americas, Europe and Asia and global fundraising channel specialists (Face2Face, Telemarketing and Legacies).

    You will also be managing the Fundraising Investment Fund which is a fund investing to accelerate growth in key emerging and established markets.

    The location of the job is flexible either at the AIIS in London or at the office of a European AI section. Applicants must have the right to work in these regions.

    The role is a fixed term contract for 18 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent contract.

    In this highly reactive role, you’ll work on both ad-hoc tasks and large-scale projects as you support our international organisation in a variety of key areas. These will include compliance issues such as legal registration, company secretarial advice and data protection, assisting in the review of major contracts and protecting our global trademarks. You’ll also provide practical, easy-to-digest advice on wider ranging legal topics, help manage ongoing litigation and review our publications for legal risk. It’s a varied role and one where you’ll work with a wide range of people, make the most of your legal expertise and, most importantly, make a difference in the fight for human rights.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    You will be working in the Management Accounting & Procurement team to provide high quality and comprehensive financial support and guidance to budget holders and other stakeholders, promoting sound budget management and ensuring financial resources are allocated in the most effective way possible. You will need to develop excellent relationships with programme staff, and through effective business partnering will ensure finance and non-finance staff have open communication on the work of Amnesty and its financial impact. You will also produce value added analysis to ensure optimal allocation of resources and prepare project based financial information to enable project accountability. In addition, you will prepare ad hoc programme or project based financial analysis as required in order to support programmes and senior management with decision making.

    Amnesty International is looking for a Senior Management Advisor to be based in our London office in the People and Services directorate (which is covers the Finance, People, Information Technology, Security, Legal, Engagement and Wellbeing, and Workplace functions). This post will provide the management across the International Secretariat, with guidance on a wide range of organisational change and transformation initiatives that enable Amnesty to adapt and respond to emerging trends and issues. Supporting these initiatives with input on the change, its project management and implementation.
