The UNDPs’ Bureau for Policy and Programme Support (BPPS) aims to ensure that the Organization’s development efforts incorporate necessary elements of crisis prevention and timely recovery support. This requires a focus on skills and capacities in national institutions and communities – in order that risks of disasters and violent conflict are minimized and a foundation for sustainable development secured.

The overall goal of the UNDP Office in Geneva is to support the active and strategic engagement of BPPS, on behalf of UNDP, with Geneva-based UN and other external humanitarian, human rights and development partners whose work is vital for the successful implementation of UNDP’s crisis prevention and recovery mandate. The UNDP Office in Geneva serves as the interface of BPPS with the Armed Violence Prevention and Humanitarian Disarmament partners in Geneva.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision and guidance of the Adviser, Conflict Prevention – Partnerships, the objectives of this internship will be mainly:

  • Support the Adviser, Conflict Prevention – Partnerships in follow up of formal and informal debates within the framework of the Human Rights Council with the objective to produce targeted and general regular information in reference to human rights and ensure its timely communication to relevant Country Offices, Regional hubs and Bureaus and thematic units within the Governance and Peacebuilding Cluster; 
  • Accompany the Adviser, Conflict Prevention – Partnerships  in internal and external meetings;
  • Provide overall support to follow up on meeting and telephone conferences action points;
  • Prepare drafts of all relevant background documents for meetings (terms of reference, concept notes, briefings, reports,  discussion papers, as relevant);
  • Carry out all other related tasks assigned by the Adviser, Conflict Prevention – Partnerships as agreed.

Intern – Communications & Graphic Design

Duties and Responsibilities
The CADRI inter-agency Partnership seeks to recruit an intern to join the CADRI team to support the implementation of the CADRI Communication Strategy with a special focus on the development, design and layout of CADRI communications and knowledge products.The intern will be part of the CADRI team in Geneva. S/he will work under the direct supervision of the CADRI Coordinator and in close collaboration with CADRI communication adviser and CADRI agencies communication offices.The intern will perform the following duties:Development of content for various media (website, social media, Bulletin)Design / layout of various CADRI communications productsDesign and editing of video (interviews, country work)Design and updating of the CADRI website working closely with the website maintenance company:Update current event pagesInteractive and appealing web design Design headersDesign interactive maps
